"Education does not transform the world. Education changes people. People change the world"

Paulo Freire

Given LASC’s strategic objective of broadening the focus of Spanish language learning in Irish secondary schools, we have been building a network of teachers and schools interested in complementing the Spanish curriculum with global citizenship education focused on Latin American culture, history and social issues.

Through teacher training and workshops with students, we aim to promote critical thinking on the global nature of the major challenges we face in the world and Ireland’s role in them, while encouraging students and teachers to see themselves as agents of change.

Tools and Resources Library

As part of LASC’s mission of using education to build solidarity and understanding between Ireland and Latin America, we have been working for many years to develop quality educational resources. Here you’ll find a collection of materials, activities, project ideas and links to related work by others.
