LASC is opening an intern position from January-April 2022


What does the role involve?  

INTERNSHIP 1 (Communications and social media)

What does the role involve?  

  • Managing social media accounts (FB, TW, IG and YouTube)
  • Doing the newsletter we run every 2 weeks, using Mailchimp. 
  • Updating WordPress website.
  • Being the social media responsible for promoting LASC’s events and courses.
  • Campaigning: supporting LASC staff in advocacy work around campaigns on Latin American issues.
  • Active participation in organizing fundraising events.

What support will be given? 

  • Orientation and training into the use of communications tools 
  • Guidance in research parameters, news and campaigns to promote.
  • Flexibility if needed to align timetables and chores.
  • Opportunity to work in a great atmosphere and intercultural team.
  • Personal project: Possibility to do your own personal project related to our work and based on your skills and interests (workshop, exhibition, talks, podcast).

The internship is unpaid and will last 4 months. The working hours would be 15 hours per week. LASC office is based at 400 North Circular Road, but due to the current situation, this internship will be a remote internship.

There is the possibility of opening an internship agreement with the applicant’s university or study centre, but people who aren’t studying can also apply.

We’re looking for people interested in promoting human rights and social justice between Latin America and Ireland through activities carried out by LASC. 

Spanish or Portuguese knowledge will be highly valued.

INTERNSHIP 2 (Assistant Manager)

What does the role involve?

  • Research on Latin American current affairs for the newsletter and social media; there will also be a chance to publish on our blog – assistance with writing and editing provided. 
  • Assisting with the preparation and promotion of monthly seminars on Latin American issues.
  • Event and campaign management support.
  • Assisting the Coordinator on reports and grants applications.
  • Participating in some meetings held with partners and the coordinator.
  • Organising teams of volunteers to support LASC events and campaigns. Support will be provided.
  • Assisting the other intern in the creation of content and finding news to be published in Newsletter.
