News of death threats against trade unions leaders in Argentina, amid widespread moves to limit unions by the Macri government.Roberto Baradel, General Secretary of Argentina's teachers union SUTEBA and his family received death threats last week for standing up against the crushing attacks on his members' real-terms wages and living standards under President Macri's government. At the same time, Macri issued a Decree that has abolished consultation over teachers' pay, a move that potentially violates the Constitution. Others like human rights campaigner Hernán Letcher were beaten up and threatened with death by a mob in his home in front of his young son. Intimidation is being used widely.
