Our last Annual General Assembly was online, and we had the chance to elect our new Committee Members for 2023.

Brian Hearne, former LASC’s Chairperson, resigned, and we are very sorry to see him go. Hearne led LASC through thought times, and we would like to use the opportunity to thank Brian for all he has done in the past years, either as an LASC member or as a Chair. Thank you, Brian!

During the meeting, members attending heard an introduction from our current Education Officer, Ezequiel Castaelli, about his role and the activities he has been working on to expand knowledge about LA issues and current affairs.

Mr. Tom Ryder made an introduction about LASC’s finance and accountant audits. The report had no comments from the attendants and was considered adequate.

2023 Activities

By the time we are waiting for the Irish Aid approval for our projects for 2023, we would like to invite our members to our first event next March 11. We are having a Workshop about Decolonial Feminism, only in Portuguese. The course is offered by a partnership between LASC and the women’s Group “Nos Atentas” from the countryside of Sao Paulo. Limited attendance is available only for women. If you know someone that would like to attend, please send her this link.
