Enjoy LCD sound system's concert at Malahide castle, on June 5th 2018!
This summer would you like to have fun, meet fantastic new people, go to lots of great concerts while raising much needed funds to defend Latin America human rights? If so, the LASC needs you!
LASC is now recruiting a team of energetic, dedicated festival volunteers to work at the bars during the concert.
The work involves working at the bars at some of the biggest gigs and festivals this summer in Malahide, Marlay Park, Longitude or EP. When your shift finishes up you get to enjoy the music, have a free pint or two and pat yourself on the back for making a genuine contribution to the LASC organization and in particularly to the Latin American issues.

Interview with left-wing presidential candidate and former mayor of Bogota Gustavo Petro.
"Today, Colombia is—depending on the study—one of the most unequal countries in the world. This explains drug trafficking, our blatant democratic deficiencies, and the permanent violence in our country. Any faction that considers itself progressive would have to talk about broad social reforms of the kind I’ve proposed, like land reform, increasing government loans, and moving away from the oil and gas sectors." ... Colombia’s Presidential Hopeful Gustavo Petro Wants a New Left for Latin America
thenation.com
In an interview with The Nation, the former mayor of Bogotá discusses what his election would mean for Colombia and the region.
How on earth you all LASC dare to talk about New Left when the Socialism of the XXI Century was the ideology that led Venezuela to what it is now, a failed state that is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises of this century... What kind of reality are you trying to sell to the Irish society?? For this kind of propaganda is that the New Left (which has nothing but old) in Latin America is regarded by some Europeans as the beacon of democracy and prosperity... Outrageous!!
Well... how well has Neoliberalism been working for Colombia so far?? Colombia has never had a left wing party, It is a country where an oligarchy has been passing power from one generation to another, always ruling for their bests interests. Colombia MUST have social reforms because it is outrageous how EPS works, how much public universities cost, the minimum wage amount, etc. It is important to compare to other societies that have had left parties on their governments, because left is not only Venezuela and Petro is not bringing castrochavism to Colombia, let's stop that manipulative discurse.
